1963
1969
"CMT - Costruzioni Meccaniche Torre s.r.l." was founded in Dalmine (Bergamo) in a small basement workshop. The mechanical workshop was established by Francesco Torre, a mechanical expert originally from Busalla (Genoa), who moved to Dalmine after being selected as a collaborator for the Dalmine S.p.A. steelworks.
In addition to contract mechanical machining, the small workshop designed and developed projects across various fields—ranging from industrial joggers to packaging machines and tunnels—distinguishing itself through Francesco Torre’s natural inclination for product innovation.

1975
The economic crisis of those years, caused by the instability of the Middle Eastern oil market, led to a drastic drop in orders. During this period, the first chamber shrink wrap machine was designed and built, revolutionizing the packaging market. Existing technology was scaled down and integrated into a single, simplified system, making it accessible even to small shops and artisans. Francesco Torre filed the international patent for industrial invention.
1982
“CMT - Costruzioni Meccaniche Torre s.r.l.” transformed into “minipack-torre s.r.l.”, by then a solid and structured business entity with its own sales and technical support departments. The “minipack®” trademark was registered for the first time. The range of minipack® products, developed using the same core technology, became increasingly diversified and spread across the globe.
1985
The company underwent a change in its legal status, transitioning into “minipack®-torre S.p.A.”.
1988
The company's current headquarters was inaugurated, comprising the manufacturing, design, sales, administration, and service departments; the historic factory building was repurposed as the mechanical workshop for the machining and assembly of shrink tunnels.
1992
The vacuum packaging machine line was strategically introduced through a technological spin-off before the patent expired. This significant production diversification allowed minipack®-torre to enter the FOOD sector. The minipack®-torre trademark, featuring the name inscribed within a globe, was registered. That same year, Francesco Torre was awarded an honorary degree in engineering for his 1976 patent and his extensive inventive activity in mechanics and packaging.
1998
The minipack®-torre metalwork facility was inaugurated in a building located in Osio Sopra, a municipality adjacent to Dalmine, for the production of structural mechanical components. In the same year, Minipack®-America LLC was established in Orange, California, focusing on the sales of chamber vacuum machines, external suction vacuum sealers, the Swing Ltd range, and automatic models.
1999
Automatic packaging machines continued to evolve, progressing from the minimatik to the sealmatic series. minipack®-torre further enhanced its technology and the performance levels offered to its customers.
2001
Minipack®-torre adopted the IMQ-CSQ quality system, achieving certification in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 – VISION 2000 standards.
2002
The building adjacent to the headquarters was inaugurated, housing the shipping, sales, and showroom departments. The facility includes a theater used for commercial and corporate events.
2004
The introduction of a 3D design system brought important innovations to the design and industrialisation of machines and allowed new patented machine models, including the historic Galileo and Galaxy, to be introduced to the international market.
2007
The company's current headquarters was expanded by approximately 2,000 square meters. All minipack® production is now concentrated in a single building, which also incorporates the mechanical workshop and the Vacuum and Tunnel production lines. In the same year, Minipack®-France was inaugurated in Brittany.
2008
Minipack® UK and Minipack® Ireland were inaugurated.
2009
The leadership and management of the company were entrusted by the founder, Francesco Torre, to his children, who represent the second generation. Fabio Emanuele Torre has been appointed as the new Chairman.
2011
Francesco Torre is appointed Knight of the Order 'Al merito della Repubblica Italiana'.
2013
The PRATIKA range was launched: a new generation of automatic machines for shrink wrap packaging. The technological innovations introduced were designed in partnership with major industrial leaders, such as Schneider - Electric.
2015
The minipack®-LAB was inaugurated: a new technical department that centralizes Research & Development (R&D) for minipack®-torre. This technological hub is located in the same historic premises where, 40 years ago, the landmark global patent filed by Francesco Torre was conceived and developed. In the same year, the company acquired Gramegna®, a historic Italian brand. In the 1960s, Gramegna® was the first company in Italy to manufacture L-sealers (based on a patent acquired in America).

Giemme, a company specialized in the production of shrink bundle wrappers for over 20 years, joined the Minipack group.
The premises where it all began have been renovated to host this historic brand, combining professionalism and experience with the Minipack guarantee!

Minipack-Torre marks its 50th anniversary, celebrating its history while looking toward the future.
A three-day event was held with over 70 distributors from more than 50 countries to celebrate this major milestone.
The program featured product workshops, machinery updates, and live cooking demonstrations, all within a festive atmosphere of sharing and community, making this half-century of Minipack truly special!

2021
Minipack-Torre S.p.A. marks a new fundamental milestone in its history of innovation with the launch of the VAQUA project.
Following the patent filing for Chef’s Cube, a vacuum packaging machine designed for domestic use, the company decided to expand its commitment to the home market. With the goal of offering professional solutions accessible to everyone, the new brand VAQUA was created, dedicated to the sale of home vacuum products through an exclusive e-commerce platform. This step represents a natural evolution of the Minipack-Torre mission.

Minipack-torre has introduced the Shrinko project, an initiative dedicated to consumable products, specifically plastic packaging film.

In 2025, Minipack-Torre introduced major packaging innovations with Box Motion, a new category of machines including Dinamika, designed to optimize both packaging quality and speed. Alongside this, the eco-friendly tabletop gummed tape dispenser offers an automatic system for handling water-activated paper tape, reducing waste and eliminating the need for manual dispensers. These innovations confirm Minipack-Torre’s commitment to advanced and sustainable solutions.
